Are you a singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, or someone who feels technically challenged around a computer but wants to learn how to record your music at home? Our Home Recording for Beginners workshop is designed to make the process simple and accessible, no matter your experience level.

This hands-on workshop covers all the basics of setting up a home studio, recording, and using cutting-edge tools for your creative projects. We start with Audacity, a free and open-source Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), before advancing to more complex platforms like Logic and Ableton.

Why Start with Audacity?

  • It’s Free: Audacity is completely free and open-source, so you can start recording without any upfront cost.
  • Professional Utility: Even professionals use Audacity for tasks like sample editing. It’s simple yet powerful.
  • Foundation for Other DAWs: Learning Audacity gives you a strong foundation to transition to other DAWs like Logic, Pro Tools, and Ableton with ease.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Basics of setting up a home studio
  • Recording, editing, and mixing in Audacity
  • Sampling and using effects
  • Transitioning to more advanced software (Logic and Ableton)
  • Tips on microphone placement and sound optimization
  • The latest tools and techniques for home recording

Perfect for:

  • Singers, songwriters, and instrumentalists wanting to record their music
  • Creatives who feel limited by technology but are eager to learn
  • Anyone who wants to feel more empowered using a computer in their creative process

What You Need:

  • A laptop (Mac or PC)
  • Headphones or earbuds (optional but recommended for better sound monitoring)
